Can I Help?
SNARL are working with a team of organisations to catch this killer(s) but there are ways in which you can help.
Spread The Word
Raising awareness is one of the ways in which everyone can help. Spreading the word to your friends, neighbours, colleges and relatives - whether they are a pet owner or not and wherever they live in the UK.
The more people who know about this case, the better. It means more people are able to keep a look out for any suspicious behaviour, they are able to spread the word further and to more people and more pets can be kept safe.
Whether it’s through word of mouth, social media, leafleting or posters, raising awareness could save lives. If you are able to volunteer to do leafleting, please join the Leafleteers Facebook group.
Be Vigilant
Keep an eye out for anything suspicious and report it.
Please be vigilant wherever you live in the UK & keep pets indoors, especially at night.
Report Anything Suspicious
If you see anyone luring, kidnapping or harming an animal, contact police immediately, then contact the RSPCA and SNARL.
If you find any mutilated bodies call SNARL on 07957 830490 or 07961 030064 and try to preserve the scene wherever possible.
If you have any information on who might be committing these offences, or any information relevant to this case - call SNARL on the above numbers.
Posting On Social Media
If you do have any information that is relevant to the investigation, please refrain from posting it on social media as this could hamper the investigation. Please report it via the above channels instead.
Report, Do Not Intervene
If you do see anyone acting suspiciously, please report it immediately. It is extremely important that you do not try to approach the individual or try to intervene. There is a possibility that this persons actions are etirely innocent. Also, any action taken without police autherisation could prejudice the investigation. It is important to remember that this killer is dangerous and should not be approached.
Keep Pets Safe
The advice is to keep cats indoors and if you do let them out, make sure they are supervised wherever possible. It is vital that cats are kept in at night. Cats are at greater risk from this killer during darkness so it is important that all pet owners reduce the risk to their cats by keeping them indoors at night.
Getting cats in can be difficult but the earlier they come inside at evening time, the less difficult it should be. Cats are nocturnal by nature and love to be outside at night, so calling them in before their nocturnal instincts kick in will make it that bit easier.
Leafletting
Leafletting is an important way of raising awareness. If you are able to leaflet in your area, please join the Facebook Leafleteers Group where an area co-ordinator will advise you which part of your area to leaflet. Leaflets can be provided.
